Uses For Noroxin
Norfloxacin Noroxin is used to treat a variety of bacterial infections. This medication belongs to a class of drugs called quinolone antibiotics. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria.This antibiotic treats only bacterial infections. It will not work for virus infections (e.g., common cold, flu). Unnecessary use or overuse of any antibiotic can lead to its decreased effectiveness.

How Norfloxacin Works

Indications
Noroxin is used to treat urinary tract infections as well as some sexually transmitted infections.

Noroxin Norfloxacin and Alcohol
Norfloxacin is an antibacterial drug belonging to Quinolones. It has no sedative side effects and no interactions with alcohol (i.e the alcohol for example in whiskey ,brandy etc.). Further The BNF (British National Formulary 2008) does not mention of any incompatibilities between alcohol and norfloxacin. So the conclusion is that these have no interactions harmful to the body.
But there is a different point I want to explain. Noroxin Norfloxacin is commonly given for urinary tract infections. Taking alcohol with urinary tract infections is not suitable.
